Your Testimony Is Worth Sharing

I was listening to a podcast the other day—more as background noise while I did my makeup than anything else. I didn’t expect to get much from it.

But just a few minutes in, the speaker said something that stopped me in my tracks:

“Your testimony is worth sharing.”

I paused.

That simple sentence hit something deep.

Her story sounded so much like mine. And it helped me realize something I hadn’t fully believed before: my testimony is still worthy.

And I want to help someone else realize the same.

As Christians, we’ve all heard the powerful, edge-of-your-seat kind of testimonies. Full of heartbreak and dramatic transformation. Someone who heard God’s voice out loud. Someone who turned their life completely around.

And if we’re honest, a lot of us kind of wish we had a story like that to tell.

But what we don’t always consider?

Those stories usually come at a cost—pain, trauma, brokenness.

Many of us don’t have a dramatic “before and after.” Instead, we were raised in loving Christian homes. We were introduced to Jesus at a young age. We’ve always known about His love.

That’s my story.

I’ve never known a life apart from God—and wow, what a blessing that is.

My parents taught me from birth that I was loved by a God who sent His Son to die for me.

We were in church every Sunday and Wednesday. We prayed at meals and before bedtime.

My mom prayed over me every night. She spoke truth into me constantly.

I faintly remember giving my life to Jesus as a child. I remember saying the prayer. I remember getting baptized.

Maybe your story sounds similar.

Sure, I’ve had distant seasons. Hard ones.

But I never rebelled. I never ran away from God or doubted His love. Even in my lowest moments, I knew He was there.

So for years, when someone asked me about my testimony, I’d say:

“I don’t really have one.”

But now? I see how sad that is.

All this time, I’ve been selling myself short—and maybe even keeping someone else from knowing Jesus because I thought my story wasn’t worth telling.

But now I realize, this is my testimony.

Knowing Jesus my entire life IS my testimony.

The fact that I don’t have a dramatic story?

That’s my story.

And if that’s your story too—it’s worth sharing.

Don’t believe the lie that you don’t have something to say. Tell people how good God has been. Tell them how He lives in your home, your marriage, your children. Maybe even generations of your family have followed Him—what a legacy to share!

You might be thinking, “How is that going to help someone come to Christ?”

Well—it’s HOPE.

Hope for a family’s future.

Your story could be the one that encourages someone to stay rooted in their faith—so that they can raise their children in Jesus, too.

They can plant a seed.

Just like our parents did.

God created each of us for a purpose.

He wrote our stories intentionally—even the quiet ones.

So tell yours.

Even if it feels simple. Even if it feels short.

More trials will come.

There may be a new chapter one day—a big breakthrough moment where you see Him show up in ways you never expected.

But don’t wait for that.

Tell your story now.

Tell about His goodness in the ordinary.

Because someone needs to hear what YOU have to say.

And if you’re a parent, please—teach your children about Jesus.

Pray over them. Speak life into them.

Read them Bible stories.

Buy them a Bible.

It’s the most important thing you could ever do.

I’ve seen this quote going around lately:

“The only thing you can take to heaven with you is your family.”

If that doesn’t make you want to share the gospel with the people you love most… I don’t know what will.

Plant the seed—and water it every day.

It’s worth it.

But it doesn’t have to stop there. Jesus put you on this earth to bring others to Him—to help save souls.

We are called to be disciples of Christ.

How amazing would it be to be part of someone’s story of how they found Jesus?

You don’t have to have it all together.

You don’t need a platform or perfect words. Sometimes, the most powerful thing you can share is your own story—what Jesus has done in your life.

Your story matters.

You have a testimony—because He’s never left your side.

“Since my youth, God, you have taught me, and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds. Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, my God, till I declare your power to the next generation…”

Psalm 71:17–18
